Pacman vs Cotto Again?
The fourth fight between the Filipino ring icon and Juan Manuel Marquez has become such a boring. Their third match-up is far from “thrillogy.” Although Marquez is not lost as opposed to the first two meetings with Manny, he also showed that it was, how he goes, which is the counter-attack and give Manny hard nights work.
Tim Bradley, a promising welterweight Arum is looking at, is still an unknown commodity and can not pay at the gate. And Arum knows he needs to put a marquee name in the empty spaces of the butts.
Cotto? Here is a fighter who commands a huge following, especially among Puerto Ricans in New York. If Pacquiao-Cotto rematch will take place in New York, Madison Square Garden will reconfigure its seating.
Pacquiao has not fought in New York yet. Basically it is Las Vegas, where the high rollers and once at Dallas’ Cowboy Stadium, when he fought Cotto Joashua a one-sided fight for severance pay in Ghana.
New York, although not exactly back fond memories for fans of the Philippine struggle. It was at Madison Square Garden, another Puerto Rican Carlos Ortiz on behalf of Filipino demolished Gabriel “Flash” Elorde, former world junior lightweight champion, who moved in weight to challenge lightweight champion Ortiz. Puerto Rico is too much for the Elorde, who was described by the New York Times sports in the ring as “like a deflated tire after a fight.”
Although Cotto was badly beaten by Pacquiao in Las Vegas trips, Puerto Rico, was recovered and redeemed himself by winning the world junior middleweight crown to George Foreman.
Manny may still be able to handle Cotto, but Pacquiao should not let yourself be drawn into a catchweight of 150 pounds. Cotto apparently found her recipe in weight and can be too strong for Manny to 150, a Filipino they had fought his last two fights at 146.
Pacquiao takes World Boxing Organization welterweight.
There is a wealth of talent in the welterweight, promoter Bob Arum can get from such a knockout artist and California Haitian Andre BERTO, Lamont Peterson, who recently deposed Amir Khan junior welterweight, Victor Ortiz and who was sucker punched by Floyd Mayweather-
Peterson claims Khan is exposed to, the following exciting fighter to watch, when he decisioned the British title.
Khan, who serves as sparmate for Pacquiao, also trained by Freddie Roach. Would be interesting if Amir Khan is cut off communication with the team calls Roach and Pacquiao Pacman.
Mayweather to Ortiz then Pacquiao?
Apparently Floyd Mayweather Jr. and Manny Pacquiao will always be linked, regardless of whether they ever compete in the ring.
The two danced around the fight against the richest in boxing for years, irresistible. Meanwhile, their animosity has grown to the point that Pacquiao is a pending suit alleging libel Mayweather unfairly accused of using performance-enhancing drugs.
It is therefore not surprising that Mayweather has spent so much time answering questions about Pacquiao on Tuesday as he was about Victor Ortiz, the welterweight champion he will face his next fight on September 17 at the MGM Grand in Las Vegas .
“I never said that Manny Pacquiao is taking steroids, I never said he was taking medication for improvement,” said Mayweather, who failed to turn in a court-ordered deposition in Las Vegas more earlier this month involving libel.
“I want to fight as best they are out there, not just him, the best they got out there,” Mayweather said, “and if it is on the list as one of the best guys, then completely that. ”
Mayweather said he was ready to fight against Pacquiao if random blood and urine tests, which are stricter than the protocol used by most states robust associations. Mayweather, Pacquiao said team has agreed to blood and urine at times.
“It’s not just Pacquiao, the sport, period,” says Mayweather. “If you look at sports in the Olympics, they cheat. Everybody Cheats. And I never said Pacquiao is cheating, the only thing I said that it was me and every other opponent I must face trial . ”
