Mayweather to Ortiz then Pacquiao?
Apparently Floyd Mayweather Jr. and Manny Pacquiao will always be linked, regardless of whether they ever compete in the ring.
The two danced around the fight against the richest in boxing for years, irresistible. Meanwhile, their animosity has grown to the point that Pacquiao is a pending suit alleging libel Mayweather unfairly accused of using performance-enhancing drugs.
It is therefore not surprising that Mayweather has spent so much time answering questions about Pacquiao on Tuesday as he was about Victor Ortiz, the welterweight champion he will face his next fight on September 17 at the MGM Grand in Las Vegas .
“I never said that Manny Pacquiao is taking steroids, I never said he was taking medication for improvement,” said Mayweather, who failed to turn in a court-ordered deposition in Las Vegas more earlier this month involving libel.
“I want to fight as best they are out there, not just him, the best they got out there,” Mayweather said, “and if it is on the list as one of the best guys, then completely that. ”
Mayweather said he was ready to fight against Pacquiao if random blood and urine tests, which are stricter than the protocol used by most states robust associations. Mayweather, Pacquiao said team has agreed to blood and urine at times.
“It’s not just Pacquiao, the sport, period,” says Mayweather. “If you look at sports in the Olympics, they cheat. Everybody Cheats. And I never said Pacquiao is cheating, the only thing I said that it was me and every other opponent I must face trial . ”
